Guide to the Caribbean - Information on Barbados
Barbados is definitely the nicest of the Caribbean islands. The beaches, views and wild life are spectacular and the sun of course is gorgeous. Barbados is a coral island which was pushed out of the sea a long time ago by volcanic activity.
The west coast of the island is home to long stretches of sparkling white beaches and a shimmering blue green sea, which is home to a beautiful selection of coral reefs which provides a great environment for scuba diving and snorkeling. (Not to be missed!) The east coast of the island is a surfer’s paradise, with huge waves and long beaches but still has gorgeous views and towns for any visitor. The constant winds hitting the island from the east gives Barbados a perfect tropical temperature.
Inset from the long beaches are rolling green hills and tropical forests full of underground caves and lakes. A must see for anyone visiting the island. You can book tours from the hotels to see these amazing sites. The underground lakes provide an excellent supply of drinking water which is known as the purest in the world.
More than just sites, Barbados offers brilliant nightlife, arts, history, sports and music, enough entertainment for any traveler. But what makes people return to the island over and over? The people Barbadians, also known as Bajans are warm and friendly people always making you feel welcome with a sincere smile.
Barbados is one of the most amazing places on the planet. The island has natural charm which will make you want to come back again and again
